Proverb: If you can’t beat them, join them

To be successful in business, they say you have to carve out a niche.

That’s not always the easiest way, and success is not guaranteed.

There may be another way, and that is if you can’t beat them, join them

Let’s go back and take a look at that finding your niche thing first.

Finding a niche is great because you don’t have to face your competition head-on; you can go around them.

It doesn’t always work, though.

It’s hard to find a niche, and if you do, you have to do all the work of defining what it is and then marketing it to your customers.

We all know that people are not aware of what they want until you tell them they want it.

Marketing takes a lot of trial and error, which amounts to time and money.

Trying to outdo or outsmart your rivals is extremely hard and stressful.

This is where we get to the proverb; if you can’t beat them, join them.

You never have to build a better mousetrap.

You have to make one cheaper than the other guys.

That means there is no need to find a niche.

You simply do what everyone else is doing.

It’s easier that way.

You eliminate all the stress and strain of inventing a new product and have more time for yourself.

Why didn’t I (I meaning me) do that, you may wonder.

Well, I don’t like to follow the crowd, and besides, I found a niche very quickly.

Now, I only have to build up my business.

I love doing things the hard way.
