Phrase: I told you so
I told you so is used to say, “I warned you about this, but you didn’t listen.”
It’s used in an argument or disagreement to prove a point.
For any men reading this, I want to stress that you should never say, “I told you so,” to your wife.
The meaning of I told you so is straightforward.
It’s a way to express that someone was right in their prediction or warning.
It can be used in various situations, such as when a friend bets on baseball and loses.
But let me reiterate my previous advice.
Saying this to your wife is like waving a red flag before a bull.
Just like the bull, your wife is colourblind.
She lives in a world of black and white.
She is right, and you are wrong.
ALWAYS.
That is the one rule to having a perfect marriage.
The fact that you have chosen to wave that flag or say, “I told you so,” will make the bull or your darling wife want to stomp all over you and pound you into the dirt until you are nothing but a bloody mess.
People say I told you so for different reasons.
Husbands say I told you so because they are stupid.
Some people use it to prove a point and feel a sense of satisfaction when they are proven right.
Others may use it to remind someone (never their wives) that they should have listened to them in the first place.
For some, it’s a way to establish credibility and show they know what they are talking about.
Remember, as a married man, you have no credibility and are never right in your wife’s eyes.
Not everyone likes to hear others say I told you so.
It comes across as condescending and dismissive of their feelings.
People, especially married women, feel embarrassed or ashamed that they didn’t listen to the warning.
Hearing I told you so, only rubs salt in the wound.
I told you so fuels resentment in married women; they will never forget it.
Saying I told you so can turn a beautiful, adoring wife into a raging bull.
Graveyards worldwide are full of men whose famous last words to their wives were I told you so.
