English Phrase: He who hesitates is lost

There are times in life when we must not delay because he who hesitates is lost.

He who hesitates is lost means we should immediately take advantage of the opportunities we are presented with; they may not occur again.

Often in life, there are times when we have to make a quick decision, and waiting will only make matters worse.

Before we go any further, yes, I understand that using ‘he’ to represent humanity is a leftover from the patriarchal (male-dominated) societies of the past.

However, I can’t change the proverbs; I can only introduce and explain them.

Feel free to insert your preferred preposition. She, xe, or they would work just as well.

This proverb is a good one to use when telling someone to take advantage of opportunities.

In other words, be a go-getter.

Sometimes, when an opportunity presents itself, we have to take it immediately because it may not be there tomorrow.

She who hesitates is lost, so the next time you have a chance to do something cool, do it!
