Phrase: Have a thing for

Having a thing for someone or something is a curious and often unexplainable feeling.

It’s that inexplicable attraction that draws you to a person or thing, making it hard to resist.

It’s something that you can’t quite put your finger on, but you know that it’s there, and it’s real.

When you have a thing for someone, it’s more than just a physical attraction.

It’s a deep connection that goes beyond the surface level.

You’re drawn to their personality, quirks, sense of humour, and energy.

You find yourself thinking about them often, wondering what they’re doing, and wanting to spend time with them.

When you have a thing for something, it’s more than just a passing interest.

It’s a deep love and appreciation for that thing.

It could be a hobby, a particular food, a clothing style, or even a specific colour.

You’re drawn to it and can’t imagine your life without it.

Let’s break it down.

Maybe you meet someone new, and you feel a spark.

You might say, “Hmm, I think I might have a thing for this person.”

Or, your friend is always gushing about a new kind of coffee: “She seriously has a thing for those fancy lattes!”

Having a thing for something can also describe a long-term passion, like, “I’ve had a thing for classic cars since I was a kid.”

What truly makes have a thing for special is how it hints at something deeper without being too forward.

Admitting to having a thing for someone leaves the door open – it’s more than a casual “like,” but not a full-blown declaration of love.
