High fashion is a business just like any other.
Haute couture is anything related to the business of creating high fashion.
As you may have already guessed, it’s French and literally means ‘high sewing.’
Although it literally means ‘high sewing,’ the actual meaning includes all aspects of the business of high fashion, including the design, manufacture, showing and selling of fashionable clothing.
The next time you purchase fashionable clothes or see a fashion show, remember that you are buying haute couture.
