English Phrase: Give someone a run for their money

When you give someone a run for their money, you present them with stiff competition and don’t give up easily.

Competition. Life is all about the game.

One of the problems with that is that some people are only satisfied with winning, and if they don’t win, they are disappointed.

Of course, I like to win, but I also enjoy giving my competitors a run for their money.

The battle is half the fun.

So, if you give your competitors a run for their money, you may win or not, but at the least, you can enjoy the challenge.
