Word of the day: Fritter (something) away

You sit down to do some work but come across a few hilarious YouTube videos.

You start looking at Facebook and finally find a few nifty recipes on CookPad, and before you know it, you have frittered away a few hours and accomplished nothing.

Try not to be too disappointed; we all waste time.

This is where the old cliché waste not, want not comes in.

We all fritter away our valuable time doing useless (but fun) things.

What I mean is that we all waste time little by little during the day.

The problem is that having fun doesn’t get things done.

Time management gets things done.

If you are frittering your time away, stop right now.

You need to get things done.

The only way to get things done is to do them.

YouTube and Facebook can wait.

By the way, when reading my website posts, you are NOT frittering your time away – you are learning new vocabulary and expressions.

That’s called learning, and learning is a good way to use your time.

This post is understandable by someone with at least a 6th-grade education (age 11).
