Phrase: Young at heart

Have you ever noticed how the happiest people are the ones who maintain a positive attitude and remain young at heart?

These people somehow seem to be able to hang on to part of their childhood, whereas, for many people, their attitudes deteriorate as they age.

Not only their hair greys, but their thoughts do as well.

People, we need to stay young at heart.

What I mean is we must make a conscious effort to maintain a youthful outlook on life.

We should not act our age all the time.

What the heck does that mean anyway?

Whether you’re 19 or 90, you should look towards tomorrow with positivity.

I’ll tell you why.

About the time I turned 40, I realized that my outlook on the world had changed.

I had become much more cynical and grumpy.

The slightest thing would anger me, and stories I read in the newspaper (something I have loved and enjoyed since I was a young boy) would stay in the back of my mind and bring me down.

My wife didn’t like it, and she told me.

You can always count on a Kansai woman to speak her mind, especially if what you do upsets her.

Anyways, I made a conscious decision to get back to being young at heart.

I pushed out the negative thoughts.

While reading the newspaper, instead of letting the news of the day bother me, I counted my blessings.

Accomplishment is one of the best feelings in the world.

I’m 46 going on 17 (in mind, if not body).

We need to remain young at heart and hang on to the childish enthusiasm for life.

Now that I think about it, perhaps that was my midlife crisis. Hmm.
