Word of the Day: Edge
Competition is the name of the game, and if you want to get ahead of the game, you need to have an edge.
Now the good news is that everyone does have one.
The bad news is that not everyone knows what theirs is.
Your edge is your advantage over other people.
You may think you don’t have an edge.
Perhaps you feel that you are the average Joe who is the same as everyone else.
The only thing typical about being normal is that there is no such thing as normal.
Each person is different.
Everyone has unique qualities that will help them to stand out in life and the workplace.
It’s up to you to discover what your edge is.
You may be a very deeply spiritual person.
If you are, that could help you be mentally and emotionally stronger than others.
Your spiritual strength may help you to get through challenging situations, whereas others would experience much difficulty.
If you are a person who needs to be organized, then that could be your edge too.
Some careers, such as those in logistics, require people to be highly organized.
Think about Amazon’s logistics system.
Packages need to be where they need to be when they need to be there.
It’s OK.
If you need to, go back and read that sentence again to make sure you got it; please do that now.
I’ll wait…Got it?
Good.
So, as I was saying, logistics requires organized people.
If you want to work in logistics, your organizational skills are your edge over others.
They are your advantage which will help you get and keep a job working for a logistics company.
Just in case you’re wondering, two things give me an edge.
The first is my independence, and the second is my determination.
What’s yours?
