Idiom: Eat your lunch
If you are not adapting to the changing environment, someone will come in and eat your lunch.
The world is going through a period of upheaval and change.
When I say change, I mean everything will change.
In 2022, we used to talk about going back to The Before Times, but that is all behind us.
Things have changed and will continue to change.
Donald Trump said, “China is eating our lunch,” and he was right.
It pains me to say this, but the West has grown slow, fat and lazy.
People think they are working hard if they work 6 – 8 hours every day.
Well, the world is working smarter and harder than you.
When someone eats your lunch, they are more successful than you because they are outworking you badly.
We say the early bird gets the worm, but that’s not the end of the story.
The early bird also has to work hard to get the worm.
Immigration is a significant concern at the moment.
People born in Western nations complain that foreigners are ‘taking all the jobs,’ but if you ask employers, they will tell you they prefer foreign workers because they work.
Westerners have grown slow, fat and lazy.
As a result, the world is eating our lunch.
We talk about hustle culture and getting ahead, but at the same time, we feel entitled to things because we put in the effort and feel effort should be rewarded.
The effort is wasted if it doesn’t bring results.
That’s why immigrants and China are eating our lunch – we are slow, fat, lazy and overentitled.
