Word of the Day: Double down

When things get complicated, that’s the time to double down.

Everyone understands that, at times, things don’t go as smoothly or as efficiently as we want them to go.

When you double down, you become more determined than ever to achieve your goal.

This determination causes you to work harder and put in more effort.

Perhaps you can’t convince your team leader that your idea to easily and quickly solve a problem is best.

In that case, if you believe in the merits of your solution, you should be doubling down on your efforts to explain the benefits of your idea.

A great example of doubling down is the #Metoo movement that swept across North America and is just beginning in Japan.

For too long, women have been treated poorly, and now they are doubling down on finally demanding – and getting, the respect that all people deserve.
