To dodge a bullet means to successfully avoid a bad situation. If you foresee an accident and avoid it, you dodge a bullet.
Oh man, I could have died! I sure dodged that bullet!

English Idiom: Dodge a bullet

I have another interesting idiom today.

This time, we are going to talk about dodging bullets.

When a person has successfully avoided a bad situation, you may hear them say, ‘I dodged that bullet.’

To dodge a bullet means to successfully avoid a bad situation.

If you foresee an accident and avoid it, you dodge a bullet.

For example, imagine that your company is not doing well.

You decide to find another job.

After a short period, you find a new job and start working.

Then your old company goes bankrupt, and all of the employees lose their jobs.

Good for you! You dodged a bullet, and that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it’s done.
