Do as I say, not as I do

Do as I say not as I do is self-explanatory. It means don't make the mistakes I've made in life. Do what I tell you, don't follow my example.

English Proverb: Do as I say, not as I do

Most times, when people are giving you advice, it is a case of do as I say, not as I do.

Do as I say not as I do is self-explanatory.

It means don’t make the mistakes I’ve made in life.

Do what I tell you; don’t follow my example.

Everyone is full of advice.

People always want to be helpful when you are having difficulties.

You see, really, the thing is that most people do not take their advice.

The person who has been smoking for decades tells young people not to smoke.

The alcoholic advises people not to drink and drive.

And the drug dealer’s advice?

Of course, don’t do drugs.

If we all tried to set a good example instead of having a do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do attitude, we might have a shot at making the world a better place.
