WotD: Circadian rhythm

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

Seriously though, how is your circadian rhythm?

It’s pretty important, you know.

Haven’t you ever heard of the rhythm of life?

Well, your circadian rhythm is the 24-hour sleep-wake cycle that repeats every time the sun rises.

The sun rises every day, and most creatures on this planet regulate their activities by the sun.

Huh? What if the sun doesn’t rise?

Well, if the sun fails to rise, you have much more significant problems than your circadian rhythm.

The experts say it is imperative to ensure that you get enough sleep every night.

If you do not, you are operating with a sleep deficit and will not be as alert or clear-headed as you should be.

Therefore, you will not operate at your optimal performance.

So, how can you get your circadian rhythm in sync?

First of all, you should build strong habits to control the things you can control.

That means making every effort to get to bed at the same time each evening.

Habit formation is essential if you want to be at your best each day.

Set a time and go to bed at that time.

Then select a wake-up time and wake up every day at that time.

It may be hard at first, but eventually, your body will naturally get itself ready for bed, and you will naturally wake up around the same time every day.

That’s your circadian rhythm!

Get that right, and you’ll notice you feel hungry every day at the same time.

Heck, you’ll even use the bathroom at the same time.

Life operates on the rhythm of the sun.

Get your circadian rhythm in sync with that to feel healthier, more energetic and generally more in tune with what’s happening around you.
