Phrase: Cash in hand

These days, in most jobs, people don’t receive cash in hand as their salary.

Cash in hand refers to instances when people receive cash instead of digital payment or a cheque for selling a good or providing a service.

They are paid by having their paycheck deposited directly into their bank accounts.

It’s an easy and trouble-free way to receive money; the taxman always gets his share.

However, what happens if people work for themselves?

What happens if people do not want to pay taxes?

What happens if people sell things at a flea market or roadside vegetable market?

How do they get paid?

Well, they receive money directly.

Many individuals who get cash in hand pay their taxes honestly, but, in many cases, getting paid cash in hand is an excellent way to avoid taxes.
