Word of the Day: Botch

When you botch something, you ruin it by doing it incorrectly.


As you can see in the picture, the person filled in the crossword puzzle incorrectly and then tried to cover over the mistake with correction tape.

However, they didn’t do a good job. They botched the correction by putting the tape on crooked.

Oh well, I suppose we all mess things up occasionally.

The important thing is that we learn from our mistakes.

Practice makes perfect, as they say.


This post is understandable by someone with at least a 7th-grade education (age 12).  

On the Flesch-Kincaid reading-ease test, this post scores 76.
