English Idiom: Born yesterday
To people who weren’t born yesterday, it’s important to have doubt.
We have to question things so that we do not get fooled.
As the expression goes, a fool and his money are soon parted.
The older we get, the wiser we should be, which is from where the idiom born yesterday originates.
It should be more challenging to fool an older person than a young person.
As we make our way through life, we are supposed (I said supposed) to gain life experience, and when someone tries to fool or take advantage of us, we should say, ‘I wasn’t born yesterday, you know,’ and walk away.
