WotD: Believe in (someone)

In August, I wrote about ‘believe in (something).’

Today, I will write about believing in someone.

Believe it or not, the meanings are different.

If you believe in someone, you trust in them and think that they are a good person.

If your boss puts you in charge of a significant project, it means your boss believes in you or trusts you very much.

When we get married, we tell the other person that we believe in them, that we think they are a good person, and that we want to spend the rest of our lives with them.
