Phrase: Be on your guard
Try not to let yourself be fooled by what seems innocent.
Be on your guard because you never know when you’re going to find yourself in a dangerous situation or on the verge of being tricked.
I always tell my wife to lock her car door when driving.
She used to say it was stupid because if she were to be involved in an accident, the police would not be able to open the door.
I said, and still say, you should always be on your guard against unforeseen happenings.
Then one day, here in the countryside not too far from where we live, there was an incident.
The police were looking for a guy.
He was on foot.
He ran to an intersection where an elderly woman waited in her car at a red light.
What happened next, do you think?
He opened the door, pulled out the old lady, threw her to the ground and took her car.
Yep, you better believe it.
That poor old lady was not on her guard, and someone stole her vehicle while she was in it.
Yes, of course, the police caught him.
It’s Japan; the police find everybody.

We have the Internet.
More and more people are spending more and more time online these days.
COVID-19 is not a computer virus, so the Internet is one of the few places we are safe.
Or are we?
Hackers are trying to steal your information every day.
If you are not on your guard, they’ll get you.
Forewarned is forearmed, as the proverb goes.
Please take my advice and be on your guard by using a password manager and antivirus software.
