Artistic license

When people take artistic license, they change or modify things from what is considered normal and this change creates a special effect.
When I asked for a portrait of my dog, I didn’t expect the photographer to take artistic license, but I like it!

Word of the Day: Artistic license

Have you ever noticed that some people don’t follow the rules when it comes to art?

When people take artistic license, they change or modify things from what is considered normal and this change creates a special effect.

When I think about an author who takes artistic license, Haruki Murakami comes to mind.

Some people enjoy Mr. Murakami’s work, and for others, his novels are not their cup of tea.

There is nothing wrong with following a particular set pattern, but sometimes, shaking things up makes them attractive somehow.

When people take artistic license, they change or modify things from what is considered normal, and this change creates a unique effect.

A few months ago, my students and I discussed art, and the work entitled Piss Christ was a part of our discussion.

The artist who created this work used his artistic license.

Actually, he took it to heart and caused much controversy.

Depending on your view of art, it may be a great work or garbage.

However, it leaves you with an impression that you will never forget.

That, in my opinion, is what artistic license is all about.
