What would life be like without amenities?
I dread to think about it.
What a joy it is to live in this modern world!
What to check the weather?
There’s an app for that.
Want to have a cold drink?
There’s ice in the fridge.
Want to sit down for a while and watch the ocean?
There’s a bench that’s just waiting for you.
All of these things are amenities.
An amenity is anything that makes life easier.
Hot, running water, instant coffee, public libraries and the Internet are all amenities that make our lives pleasant and enjoyable.
Think about all of the modern conveniences (mod cons) that we have today, such as washing machines, microwave ovens, and heating in our homes.
