Word of the Day: Airtime

If you listen to radio programs or watch television for any length of time, you’ll quickly realize that the topics with the most airtime change frequently.

Recently, in Japan, the Moritomogakuen scandal was getting vast amounts of airtime, and even now, it’s still mentioned in the news from time to time.

Even more recently, President Trump’s State of the Union address got some airtime in Japan.

Anyway, the main takeaway from today is that airtime is the amount of broadcasting time spent on a particular topic.

Once the Pyeongchang Olympics begin, they will get the lion’s share of the airtime on TV, and we will get a break from the politicians and their scandals for a short time.
