A case of the jitters

When you have a case of the jitters you feel some anxiety and anticipation before doing something that makes you feel nervous.
If I were going to jump out of an airplane, I’d be nervous too.

English Expression: A case of the jitters

This guy, the guy in the picture, looks like he has a severe case of the jitters.

Oh yes, it seems as if he is feeling some anxiety and anticipation before he goes up in a perfectly good airplane and jumps out.

I’ve never been parachute jumping before, but I’ve bungee jumped and just like the guy in the picture I had a severe case of the jitters right before I dropped.

Honestly, I almost didn’t jump, but you know what Eleanor Roosevelt said, ‘Do one thing every day that scares you.’

Well, by bungee jumping, I did one thing that scared me for about six months.
