Whether we look at productivity, salaries or prices, the answer is the same – they never go up. Japan has been a stagnant economy for the past thirty years. The only way for a Japanese worker to get a raise is to go overseas. Sure, many workers have lifetime employment, but how good is that when you receive the lowest salaries in the G7?
